Ammers appoint new joint-managers

18th January, 2023

Yorkshire Amateur have announced a new management team as they look to stave off relegation from the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.

Jake Boyd and Casey O’Reilly have become the Ammers' new joint-managers with a restructure of several other roles in the dugout line-up also confirmed.

They replace former boss Mark Maspero and his assistant Liam Willingham who were appointed in the summer but have now departed after the club found themselves fourteen points away from safety in the battle to avoid the drop into Step 6.

In a statement, Amateur have thanked both Maspero and Willingham for their efforts during their tenure.

Also involved in the restructure is new assistant manager Emeel Mati, who has been promoted from first-team coach, and Matt Appleyard who will be head of first-team football operations.

Jacob Nyaudoh and Tom Shepherd will continue their roles as first-team coach and goalkeeper coach, respectively.

Former Ammers defender Boyd currently also manages Farsley Celtic Academy, leading the coaching of the U23s, U19s and U16s whilst O’Reilly currently heads the management of the Celts’ U21s.

And, the pair's first game in charge at the Southerns Stadium will be a league trip to Penistone Church on Saturday (21st), kick-off at 3pm.
