Ammers announce changes ahead of new season

22nd July, 2022

Yorkshire Amateur have announced that the football club has been "taken over directly by the community" as the club prepares for its Toolstation NCEL Premier Division season.

The news comes after it was reported earlier this week that boss Nathan Cartman and the playing squad had left the Ammers.

In a statement released on social media on Thursday evening, the club explained more about recent changes within its setup, promising that there "will be more posts over the coming days/weeks around the club's new structure, management team and players."

They added: "Over the last few days, we have assembled a squad of young local players and staff we are confident in.

"In order to support the financial difficulties the club has been left in, players and staff will be doing all their duties on and off the field for free.

"We aim to give the club and community a young team they can be proud of which will develop in a positive way.

"The club has some really good people doing some great jobs who will now have a major voice and influence in the future direction of their club.

"We are also looking for volunteers to help in all aspects of the club to please get in touch.

"We would like to make it clear that the women's and junior section will continue with their excellent work with them being an integral part of the club.

"The club would also like to thank Nathan Cartman who, over the last few months, did his best for the club with the ongoing turmoil in the background.

"We wish him all the best in the future."
