Tributes Pour in for Brian France
13th December, 2012
Scarborough Athletic and the Baris NCEL are in mourning following the death of one of the club's former managers this week.
Brian France, who had also previously managed North Ferriby United in the NCEL, passed away on Monday evening.
Brian played a major role in building the foundations of Scarborough Athletic and led them to promotion from Division One into the Premier Division in his second season with the club.
But sadly, he never recovered from the day he was struck by a football in a freak incident during a match at Liversedge in September 2010, causing a brain haemorrhage.
The Management Board and all members of the Northern Counties East Football League send their condolences to Brian's family and friends and to Scarborough Athletic Football Club.
Brian's funeral takes place at Halternprice Crematorium, Willerby, HU10 6NS on Thursday 20th December at 2.15pm.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Oncology Ward at Castle Hill Hospital and the Myeloma Cancer Charity.
