Baris NCEL Statement re: Arnold Town
16th May, 2013
The Management Board of the Northern Counties East League has issued the following statement in relation to an appeal by Arnold Town against a decision by the League Management Board. The League Management Board deducted Arnold Town FC 10 points under rule 14.A.1 Sporting Sanctions for the occurrence of an insolvency event. Arnold Town FC then indicated that they wished to appeal against the League Management Board decision under rule 14.A.7 and, in the interest of manageable cost for which the club is fully responsible for, both parties agreed to refer the matter for appeal to The Football Association whose decision would be final and binding on both parties.
That appeal was heard by a Football Association appeals board on Tuesday 14th May at Wembley Stadium. After due considerations from both parties, the Appeals Board dismissed the Force Majeure argument and the deduction of 10 points confirmed.
As a result of this it should be noted that the provisions of Rule 14.B.1 (click here to see that Rule) will now apply in that Arnold Town FC will be relegated one step at the next Annual General Meeting unless one of the requirements listed in that rule has been met.
There will be no further statements from the Northern Counties East League who considers the matter closed.

New Eagles Manager To Be Unveiled Soon
3rd December, 2012
Baris NCEL Premier Division side Arnold Town will unveil a new manager in the next couple of days after departures from their dugout over the weekend.
A statement from the Eagle Valley outfit said: "The Arnold Town FC Committee has discussed the current position the club has found itself in of late and has decided to release the current manager Gary Hayward and his assistant Graham Charlesworth.
"The club wish to make it clear that neither had been in contact with any club official to offer their resignation.
"The committee do want to thank both for their enthusiasm and effort in what they have done under difficult circumstances but the facts remain that, as well as the poor results this season, there have been a number of issues that the committee have found unacceptable not least the difficulty in fielding a team over the past few weeks.
"We acknowledge that Gary Hayward's lengthy suspension has not helped matters and it has to be said that the win against Barton Town was in no small measure down to the efforts of Darren Kelk who is helping out at present.
"Acting chairman Graham Peck said: 'We would like to express our appreciation of the effort Gary and Graham have given to Arnold Town but we now have to draw the club together and move on.
"'The last few weeks have seen a lot of disruption and we now have to achieve stability with everyone pulling together to awake a sleeping giant.
"'We want to attract fans back through the gate with good results, so to that end we hope to be announcing a new manager in the next 48 hours; we now have a two week break to really try and get things back on track.'"
The statement was released by the Eagles on Sunday night after Hayward had posted on the club's unofficial supporters site forum: "After all the turmoil the club's had this season on a financial and other issues, I resigned on Friday night along with Graham Charlesworth but, as a gesture of goodwill, I went to the game yesterday to help a friend Darren Kelk. I, today, have tendered my resignation as I cannot work with the new chairman. I wish Darren and the rest of the players all the best and hope many issues to get resolved."
