Bodle commits to Shirebrook

19th April, 2023

Shirebrook Town manager Steve Bodle has committed himself to the Langwith Road club by signing a two-year contract at the Toolstation NCEL Division One side.

He put pen-to-paper on the deal during a busy couple of days for the Derbyshire outfit who also announced that Ryan Smith and Martyn Snell have become their new chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

Smith, commenting on Bodle's contract, said: "This shows the club’s ambition and commitment to building a project along with the management group.

"After holding talks with the manager it was clear our paths are aligned and Steve is 100% the man to lead the club forward - the future is exciting."

On the appointment of Smith and Snell, a club statement said: "Both have been heavily involved with the day-to-day running of the club over the last two months and are keen to create a positive environment for the club and the wider community."

Snell added: "We are both delighted to have been made so welcome by everyone at the club.

"Shirebrook is a thriving community with great, honest, hard-working people and the football club is at the very heart of it.

"Building a sustainable relationship within the community is our main focus and providing the management team with the resources to compete at the top end of the table.

"We look forward to welcoming both old and new supporters back to the club in pre-season which will show a raft of off-the-field changes going on over the next few months!"

Shirebrook have also announced there will be a club clean-up day this Sunday (23rd April) starting at 9:30am where they are asking as many people from the local community to go down to Langwith Road with free tea, coffee and bacon butties being made available for all volunteers.
