Bodle brings forward move to Shirebrook

28th February, 2023

Stephen Bodle, who was due to become manager at Shirebrook Town at the end of the season, has brought forward his move to Langwith Road and will take over with immediate effect.

Initially, it was announced that he would assume the role at the end of the season, making a short trip from the dugout at neighbours and Toolstation NCEL Division One rivals Ollerton.

But, with Ollerton now unveiling Damon Parkinson as their new boss for the rest of the campaign, Bodle has assumed his new role ahead of schedule and will be looking to get Shirebrook off the foot of the table in the tight race to avoid relegation.

In a statement released on social media, the Derbyshire club said: "Stephen - who will be working with his management team of Lee Needham, Darren Smith, and Chris Darby - is looking forward to taking his first training session tonight.

"And, he will seek to strengthen the squad ahead of our home game against Retford FC this Saturday."
