Ex-Robin Joins Borough
20th November, 2012
The Newby Leisure sponsored Grimsby Borough have confirmed that Phil Jones will be joining their coaching staff.
Jones is the former manager of Selby Town and left the Robins earlier this month after Borough's 2-1 victory at The Rigid Group Stadium.
He is a former trainee at Grimsby Town, had trials with both Bradford City and Lincoln City, and spent two years playing in the League of Ireland.
Jones has badges up to Level 2 and he managed at Boston Town Reserves where he was promoted to first team manager but decided to leave that role to become Selby Town boss.
A club statement said: "Phil will bring further experience to a progressive club that is fast approaching its 10 year anniversary.
"His coaching ability will be used to develop the younger players at the club and to carry on the club's ethos of progressing players to the first team.
"Everybody at the club wishes Phil success in his new role."
