Fifteen Toolstation NCEL sides booked their places in the First Round Proper of this season's Isuzu FA Vase with Second Round Qualifying victories over the weekend.Ollerton Town were the first as they overcame fellow Step 6 side Blidworth Welfare in their short trip to their Nottinghamshire neighbours on Friday evening.
The tie ebbed and flowed with the score at 2-2 going into the final ten minutes when Ollerton took control and goals from Jack Hollis-Smith, Nathan Murr and Adam Scott secured a 5-2 win as they added to Alfie Dodsworth's earlier double.
There were four all-NCEL ties on Saturday with
Armthorpe Welfare dispatching fellow Division One side and hosts
Athersley Recreation 2-0, courtesy of first half goals from Jamie Austin and Louis Wardle.
Harrogate Railway Athletic provided an upset as they went though at the expense of Premier Division visitors
Silsden AFC on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Kieran Greenway had put the Division One outfit ahead early in the game before Josimar Bradshaw grabbed a last-gasp equaliser to force a shoot-out that the Rail won 5-3.
Knaresborough Town took an eighth minute lead at home to Premier Division rivals
Thackley through Ewan Gregson.
But, Thomas Greaves levelled from the penalty spot and Aiden Chippendale got the winner just before half-time as the Dennyboys placed their name in the hat with a 2-1 away victory.
And,
Selby Town progressed by the same scoreline at home to
Glasshoughton Welfare, Liam Flanagan with both of the Robins' goals whilst Owen Thomas netted for Welfare.
Eight NCEL sides won on their travels to teams from other leagues with
Winterton Rangers enjoying the biggest scoreline with a 6-0 victory at Cheadle Heath Nomads.
Josh Walker's first half brace was added to after the interval by an own goal and one each from Daniel Walker, Ryan Douglas and Luke Anderson.
Kayle Price and Daniel Naidole got on the scoresheet for
Golcar United in a 2-1 win at Barnton whilst Joao Silva and Takuo Jitsukawa scored early on for
Eccleshill United in their 2-0 success at Cleator Moor Celtic.
A quickfire double from Joseph Colley and Patrick Sykes around the quarter-of-an-hour mark saw
Campion through by the same scoreline at Heaton Stannington.
Brigg Town defeated hosts New Mills 3-0 with a Scott Phillips double added to by Kevan Kahoussi and
Hallam were 2-1 victors at South Liverpool, Liam Royles and Scott Ruthven with the goals for the Countrymen.
And, there were shoot-out victories for
Penistone Church and
Emley AFC after their matches ended in 1-1 draws.
Church went through 4-3 on penalties after Thomas Brennan's equaliser saw their match at Maine Road finish all square.
Dominic Riordan did similar at Vauxhall Motors for Emley and the Pewits dominated the subsequent shoot-out, winning 4-1 to go into Monday's draw.
There was home success for
Frickley Athletic who, thanks to goals from Keelan Grist and Alhassane Keita, went through by beating Irlam 2-1.
And, an opening minute strike from Fabian Johnson was added to twice by Joshua Parfitt as
Shirebrook Town secured a 3-0 victory over visitors Leicester Nirvana.
Retford FC, however, bowed out on spot kicks after a 1-1 draw at Cammell Laird where Alex Wonham had put the Choughs ahead in the first half but they were pegged back by an equaliser with three minutes remaining.
Maltby Main twice equalised through Alister Haydock and then a Frederick Tracey penalty before bowing out 3-2 at Cheadle Town whilst
Handsworth were beaten 2-0 at Darwen.
Tyla Bell's goal was not enough for
Rossington Main who lost 2-1 at FC St Helens,
Garforth Town waved goodbye to this year's competition as they went down 2-0 at Thornaby and
Nostell Miners Welfare are also out after their 2-1 defeat at West Didsbury & Chorlton.
Finally, in Sunday's tie, there was a seven-goal thriller as
Albion Sports suffered last minute heartbreak at the hands of visitors Whickham.
The Lions led 3-1 going into the final quarter-of-an-hour with goals from Ryan Clay, Hass Gorji and Helmo Silva but the away side scored twice in two minutes to bring the scores level before grabbing an injury time winner to go through 4-3.
There were three matches each in the Premier Division and Division One on Saturday with
Barton Town keeping their place at the summit in the top flight.
Benjamin Hinchliffe grabbed a dramatic last minute winner for the Swans as they won 1-0 at basement side
Yorkshire Amateur.
North Ferriby are up to second, two points behind Barton, after their 5-1 victory at home to
Goole AFC, Danny Earl's early double added to by Danny Emerton, Danny Buttle and Joshua Dennett whilst Nathan Perks scored the Vikings' consolation.
The match smashed the record for highest attendance in the league so far this season with 675 spectators at the Dransfield Stadium.
Bottesford Town were also beaten, making it a loss for all of the division's bottom three sides, as they went down 5-1 at
Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
Jason Davis scored a hat-trick for the home side with Rhys Scott and Joshua Dennett adding late goals to their tally.
Horbury Town climb to second in Division One, a point away from leaders Campion, as they won 5-1 at bottom side
Parkgate.
They were four up by the interval, courtesy of goals from Robert Evans, Samuel Awty, Gibril Bojang and James Cusworth.
Parkgate pulled one back early in the second half through Taylor Nicholson before Horbury regained their four goal lead in the 88th minute by Benjamin Agu.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic won 2-1 at
Wakefield AFC for their first away victory of the season, Conor Glavin with both of their goals, sandwiching a Jaydan Sandhu strike, and the Briggers move up a place to eighteenth.
Corey Glaves broke the deadlock in first half stoppage time for hosts
Staveley Miners Welfare and two goals from Max Rhodes and one from Luke Michell in the second period secured a 4-0 win for the Trojans over neighbours
Dronfield Town.
