Toolstation NCEL Match Review 2022/23 #14

22nd September, 2022

Barton Town returned to the summit in the Premier Division whilst Campion have extended their lead at the top of Division One after the midweek Toolstation NCEL action.

Thomas Davie and Scott Matthews netted for Barton in their 2-0 win at Hallam in front of the division's highest crowd of the season, 528, to topple North Ferriby who drop to third.

Emley AFC also climb above the Villagers into second spot after Joe Jagger took his season's tally to thirteen with a hat-trick, including two penalties, in a 4-1 home victory over Thackley.

Jacob Kelly scored the Pewits' other goal whilst Frankie Sinfield grabbed an equaliser for the visiting Dennyboys towards the end of the opening period.

Maltby Main and Golcar United, meanwhile, have leaped up to twelfth and thirteenth, respectively, after midweek wins.

Callum Walton, Alister Haydock and Frederick Tracey found the net for Main in a 3-1 defeat of hosts Yorkshire Amateur who stay in the basement despite a goal from Louis Fialdini.

And, Kayle Price was the hero for Golcar as he scored the only goal of the game at home to Albion Sports with twenty minutes remaining.

Campion are now three points clear of second placed Rossington Main in Division One following their 3-1 home win over Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

First half strikes from Nicky Boshell and Joseph Colley were added to by Aidan Kirby before Michael Jepps scored an injury time consolation for the Briggers.

Two goals each from Oliver Baldwin and Reece Moody helped Beverley Town to a 5-1 victory against visitors Glasshoughton Welfare to move up into ninth spot.

Lewis Gibson also got on the scoresheet for the hosts whilst there was a penalty converted for Glasshoughton by Kiyani Clayton.

And, Swallownest beat Parkgate 3-2 at Rotherham Road, a Liam Frost double added to by Lucas Delfaco whilst the visiting Steelmen scored through Ross Duggan and Bradley Morton but remain bottom of the table.
