Goole AFC produced one of the shocks of the Extra Preliminary Round of this season's Emirates FA Cup with a 4-1 home victory over Consett on Saturday.An upset looked on the cards when the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division hosts took a 2-0 lead by the interval, Samuel Cable and Nathan Perks with the Vikings' goals against their visitors from the Pitching In Northern Premier League.
Kieran Aplin halved the deficit as the higher-ranked Consett threatened a comeback but the hosts held firm and added to their tally through Joshua Dacre and Luke Williams to progress to the next stage.
Winterton Rangers have a second chance to go through at the expense of Step 4 opponents after they drew 0-0 at Shepshed Dynamo to secure a midweek replay at the MKM Stadium.
And,
Thackley also have a replay after a late Kieran Suddards equaliser earned them a 1-1 home draw with Ramsbottom United.
The other sides who faced Northern Premier League opposition, however, bowed out with
Eccleshill United losing 4-0 at home to Sheffield.
Garforth Town were beaten by a single goal by visitors Pontefract Collieries, as were
Emley AFC at Glossop North End.
Danny Edwards scored for
Knaresborough Town as they went down 2-1 at North Shields and
Golcar United were defeated 3-0 at Stocksbridge Park Steels.
The round's only all-NCEL tie is yet to be decided after
Bottesford Town and
Barton Town played out a 1-1 draw, Thomas Waudby netting the leveller for the visiting Swans following Hashlee Cranidge's opener.
Daniel East's double, added to by a second half strike from Danny Emerton, sent
North Ferriby through 3-0 at home to Ebac Northern League visitors Northallerton Town.
But,
Frickley Athletic were beaten 2-1 at Whickham in one of two games played on Sunday, Richard Collier with an equaliser before their ten-man hosts scored a late winner by netting a rebound from a penalty in the 87th minute.
There were varying fortunes against Uhlsport United Counties League opposition as
Handsworth beat visitors Sleaford Town 1-0, James Eyles with a late winner, but
Maltby Main were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Quorn.
A Brad Elms own goal saw
Silsden AFC progress 1-0 at home to visitors Burscough, and goals from Thomas Charlesworth and Nathan Keightley gave
Penistone Church a 2-0 victory at Lower Breck whilst
Albion Sports,
Yorkshire Amateur and
Hallam will have replays against their North West Counties League opposition.
Kamron Basi scored for Sports in a 1-1 draw at Barnoldswick Town whilst Jamal Stewart and Omar Gikineh got on the scoresheet for the Ammers as they were held 2-2 by Charnock Richard at the Southerns Stadium.
And, in the second of Sunday's ties, Hallam played out a goalless draw with
Bury AFC in front of the weekend's biggest crowd of 1,128.
Meanwhile, the second round of Division One matches took place with two games in midweek and the remaining eight played on Saturday.
Marley Grant scored both of
Staveley Miners Welfare's goals in a 2-0 win at
Glasshoughton Welfare on Tuesday night.
That was followed by a 1-0 home victory for
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic on Wednesday at the expense of
Armthorpe Welfare, Conor Glavin with the 25th minute decider.
Horbury Town,
Harrogate Railway Athletic,
Dronfield Town and
Beverley Town joined Staveley on a maximum six points with weekend victories.
Horbury won 3-0 at
Rossington Main through a Robert Evans opener and a brace from Kieran Ceesay whilst the Rail defeated visitors
Swallownest 5-0, Oliver Norman with two of their goals whilst Luke Stewart, Elliot Holmes and Joseph Crosby each scored one.
Dronfield were the only other home winners on Saturday as Connor Chapell and Joel Pearson netted in the opening ten minutes to beat
Retford FC 2-1, Zach Casburn with a late consolation for the Choughs.
And, Beverley claimed a 2-0 victory at
Ollerton Town with goals from Reece Moody and Christopher Adams whilst a Liam Flanagan hat-trick secured all three points for
Selby Town as they beat hosts
Parkgate 3-2.
Aidan Day found the net twice for
Campion in their 3-0 triumph at
Athersley Recreation, and Joel McFadyen scored the winner as
Brigg Town prevailed 2-1 at
Nostell Miners Welfare.
And, an injury time equaliser from Raymond Sibanda saw
Wakefield AFC snatch a 2-2 draw at
Shirebrook Town to make it a point apiece at Langwith Road.
