Baris NCEL Match Review #50
15th February, 2013
Bridlington Town moved to within five points of Baris NCEL Premier Division leaders Scarborough Athletic as they beat relegation-threatened Winterton Rangers in midweek.
Josh Green struck a hat-trick for the Seasiders as they won 5-1 at the Neil Hudgell Law Stadium with Chris Batchelor and Craig Hogg also getting on the scoresheet for the home side.
Blake Freeman got a consolation for Rangers who stay in the bottom three following the defeat.
Two goals each for Liam Salt, Lewis Taylor and John Heads gave Pickering Town a 6-2 victory at home to Armthorpe Welfare, a victory that sees the Pikes climb up into the top eight.
Retford United are tenth after Adam Scott and Reece Thompson netted in the first half for a 2-1 home win over Nostell Mines Welfare, Danny Critchlow's strike for the visitors coming between the hosts' goals.
And, it was goalless in the match between Tadcaster Albion and Parkgate.
In Division One, Hemsworth Miners Welfare won 4-1 at Rossington Main, Sam Varley and Neil Towler putting them two goals up by the interval before an Iwan Heeley double ensured the points and Scott Maughan got a late goal for Main.
All of Wednesday's games were called off due to snow and ice but there was action on Thursday as Clipstone Welfare bowed out of the Notts Senior Cup, 2-1 against Linby Colliery Welfare, in a game that was played at Clipstone's Lido Ground.
