18th November, 2012
Six Baris NCEL sides are in the hat for Monday's FA Carlsberg Third Round draw after another busy Saturday of football.
AFC Emley, Parkgate and Brighouse Town booked their places with victories whilst Shirebrook Town are involved in a midweek replay and Thackley and Long Eaton United are yet to play after their games were called off.
Emley went through at the expense of Division One rivals Bottesford Town with a 3-2 victory at the Welfare Ground and Brighouse also defeated a fellow league side but needed extra-time to win 3-1 at Staveley Miners Welfare.
Ernest Boafa had given them the lead on 59 minutes before Jordan Eagers forced a further thirty minutes.
The league's top scorer Tom Matthews then struck twice to take his tally to 26 in all competitions and send the visitors through.
Two goals from Craig Fletcher helped Parkgate into the next round with a 4-2 home victory over Esh Winning with the Steelmen having to come from behind twice to secure the win.
Shirebrook will travel to Walsall Wood on Tuesday night after a thrilling 3-3 match at Langwith Road.
Jake Vernon had put them 2-1 up after they had gone behind early on through an Adam Walker own goal but Ahmet Bilgimer's strike on the hour meant the sides were tied after ninety minutes.
Corey Currithers then scored the visitors' third but Robert Camm made sure of the replay with his leveller on 110 minutes.
Pickering Town and Armthorpe Welfare bowed out with defeats at home to Billingham Synthonia and at Barnoldswick Town, respectively.
Thackley go to Bootle on Tuesday night and Long Eaton are at Southam United on the same evening after their matches were postponed.
Bridlington Town's lead at the top of the Premier Division has been cut to a point after they drew 1-1 at Maltby Main.
Carl Stewart's 36th minute penalty secured them a point after the hosts had taken the lead through Michael Cuckson.
Scarborough Athletic made a stunning comeback to close the gap on the Seasiders and climb into second spot.
Liam Slack and Brett Lucas had put their hosts, Retford United, two goals up within the opening thirteen minutes and that is how it stayed until midway through the second half when Sam Denton pulled one back for the Seadogs.
Rudy Funk's side then struck twice in the last four minutes through Ryan Blott and Tony Hackworth to snatch the victory and they go above Worksop Parramore who could only draw 2-2 at home to Barton Town Old Boys.
Tadcaster Albion are up into the top five after their 2-0 win over visitors Nostell Miners Welfare with goals from Andrew McCormick and Steven Jeff, a penalty, in the opening period.
Lincoln Moorlands Railway have moved off the bottom of the table after their 3-0 victory at Glasshoughton Welfare, Bjorn Taylor's early opener added to by an own goal from Colan Leung and Craig Roche's late strike.
Winterton Rangers replace them in the basement after Adam Jarrett's 17th minute strike saw them lose by a single goal to Liversedge and Arnold Town have fallen into the bottom four after they were beaten 1-0 at home by Hall Road Rangers.
In Division One, leaders Athersley Recreation shared eight goals with visitors Albion Sports but still remain four points clear at the top.
Seven of the goals came in an unbelievable opening period with Athersley having a narrow 4-3 advantage but Alex Cusack made sure the spoils were shared just before the hour mark.
Second-placed Cleethorpes Town struck twice in the last two minutes, courtesy of Darren Hanslip and Tim Lowe, to grab a 2-2 draw at Knaresborough Town.
Worsbrough Bridge Athletic are up into third after their 3-1 win at Appleby Frodingham, Adam Podmore, Liam McFadyen and Chris White with their goals.
Bottom side Selby Town were beaten 2-0 at Rossington Main, Chris Dickman's own goal towards the end of the first half added to by a Nathan Fraser strike after the interval.
Player-manager Daryl Clare struck with two minutes to go for Louth Town as they drew 2-2 at Teversal whilst there were away victories in the remaining three Division One matches.
Hallam were the biggest winners, 4-1 at Dinnington Town, whilst a Craig Heard brace secured a 2-1 triumph for Yorkshire Amateur at Eccleshill United and Hemsworth Miners Welfare defeated Grimsby Borough, 3-1.
