18th October, 2012

Shirebrook Town booked their place in the Second Round of the FA Carlsberg Vase with a second-half comeback at Heanor Town in midweek.

The two sides met on Wednesday night having drawn 1-1 at Langwith Road at the weekend and it was that scoreline at the interval with Nathan Benger levelling for Heanor after Jason Bradley had given the visitors an early lead.

The Premier Division hosts went ahead on 54 minutes through Jordan Hall but, after that, Shirebrook took control to cause an upset as Jordan Lemon, Jake Vernon and a Nico Degirolamo own goal gave them a 4-2 victory.

In the Premier Division, a Joe Lumsden hat-trick helped Armthorpe Welfare to a 4-0 home win over fellow strugglers Arnold Town whilst basement side Lincoln Moorlands Railway were beaten by the same scoreline by visitors Parkgate.

Keir Hannity scored two first-half goals before Nathan Forbes-Swindells and Brian Cusworth made sure of the victory after the break.

Tom Owen and Daniel Gray both found the net twice in Tadcaster Albion's 6-1 victory at home to Hall Road Rangers whilst Nicky Matthews claimed a brace as Thackley defeated Nostell Miners Welfare at Dennyfield, 3-1.

And, Pickering Town were single goal winners at Maltby Main, courtesy of a Liam Salt strike two minutes into injury time.

In Division One, AFC Emley were 5-2 victors at Askern Villa to move up into fourth place, ahead of Pontefract Collieries who also won, 4-0, at home to Rossington Main.

Ben Clayton struck twice in Knaresborough Town's 5-2 win over visitors Teversal whilst there were 3-1 home wins for Dinnington Town and Hemsworth Miners Welfare against Eccleshill United and Bottesford Town, respectively.

Hallam moved off the bottom of the table with a 3-0 victory at Selby Town, Ben Kistell and Danny Deakin putting them two-up before Rueben Pearse's own goal secured the win before half-time.

They go above Selby and Appleby Frodingham who return to the foot of the league despite taking a third-minute lead at Albion Sports through Nathan Watson.

The home side levelled on 37 minutes with a Gary Tyson goal and Graeme Sides gave Sports a 2-1 interval lead before Daniel Facey, Roy Stamer and Charlie Flaherty netted in, what the end, was a comfortable 5-1 victory.

And, Cleethorpes Town progressed in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy after a Luke Mascall brace helped them to a 3-2 First Round victory at fellow NCEL side, Grimsby Borough.
