Clubs urged to take part in Shelter's #NoHomeKit campaign

22nd November, 2022

The Toolstation Northern Counties East Football League will once again be supporting Shelter's #NoHomeKit campaign for the festive fixtures this year.

Despite COVID-related postponements, last year's campaign was a huge success, with hundreds of clubs getting involved across the country, altogether raising over £500,000 for the cause.

But as the cost of living crisis worsens, homelessness and unsafe housing conditions are affecting all of our communities with 25 households made homeless in England every ninety minutes.

Organisations like Shelter, who help anyone facing homelessness or poor housing, whilst also fighting the systemic causes of the housing emergency, have never been more important.

With that in mind, the NCEL wants to help make the second year of #NoHomeKit bigger and better.

The league is encouraging all its clubs to dedicate one home fixture across the Christmas period to the campaign.

Most importantly, this means wearing no home kit for that fixture, and encouraging fans to get involved by swapping kits and donating.
