The Baris NCEL will no longer be pursuing the possibility of forming Reserves and Under-19 Leagues.

The idea was put forward to clubs earlier this season but it was decided at the League's latest Management Board meeting that there was no point in going forward with the plans.

The Board took into account the fact that only seven clubs attended a meeting in September to discuss the proposals.

The responses from clubs about the leagues also varied greatly, including whether they should be Saturday or midweek competitions, whether other grounds could be used with variable kick-off times and concerns over travel distances and potential costs.

There would also be difficulties in achieving the formation of such a league in accordance with the guidelines put forward by the FA.

The League appreciates that this decision will disappoint some clubs, especially those in the West Yorkshire area, but it was agreed by a strong majority of the Board that no further action should be taken.
