FA Cup and FA Vase details released soon

26th July, 2020

Information about The Emirates FA Cup and The Buildbase FA Vase for the 2020/21 season will be released by the FA on Monday 3rd August, 2020.

On that date, a list of clubs accepted, those receiving exemption, competition formats, round dates and prize funds will be revealed for those two competitions as well as The Buildbase FA Trophy and The FA Youth Cup.

It is intended that 736 clubs will participate in the FA Cup, the maximum number that can be accommodated under the competition's current structure.

The FA received 889 applications so some Step 6 clubs, including those in Toolstation NCEL Division One, could miss out.

In previous seasons, a Points Per Game average across all leagues was used to determine which Step 6 clubs would be accepted to the competition.

But, as the 2019/20 season was declared null and void, draws will be conducted to see who will be able to participate.

The dates for the draws for the first two rounds of each competition will also be announced on Monday 3rd August, 2020.
