Morris unveils backroom staff
22nd November, 2020
New Armthorpe Welfare manager Lee Morris has finalised who will be alongside him in the dugout with Rhys Meynell named as his assistant.
Current Welfare players Adam Lee and Steve Garner will also be part of his team, taking up coaching roles as well as continuing to contribute on the pitch.
A central defender as a player, Meynell was with Morris previously at Goole AFC, Frickley Athletic, Shaw Lane and Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Morris said of him: "Rhys has been a friend of mine for a long time. We played together at Shaw Lane before I moved on to manage Goole where Rhys was my first signing and the same again at Frickley.
"He is a leader on the pitch and off it so he will bring a wealth of experience to Armthorpe and I'm looking forward to teaming up with him again."
With regard to Adam Lee, Morris said: "I have known Ads for about 18 years now. We played together at Frickley and he's been one of the best non league strikers.
"He has been at Armthorpe for a while and I think it will only benefit and improve the strikers at the club to work with Ads and myself."
Morris added: "Steve Garner is Mr Armthorpe. I've been a big admirer of his for a few years and I'm glad he's taken the opportunity to join my back room staff.
"His experience and knowledge of Armthorpe and the club will be vital to me and us moving forwards."
