Broken Leg Agony for Tomlinson
10th October, 2011
Barton Town Old Boys' first ever season at Baris NCEL Premier Division level received a major blow with the news that last season's Player of the Year James Tomlinson broke his leg at the weekend.
In what seemed a fairly routine challenge during their match at Bridlington Town on Saturday, Tomlinson was in immediate pain which resulted in the game been held up for over thirty minutes whilst an ambulance came and he was taken to Scarborough Hospital where he was kept in overnight.
Tomlinson, who is also a ex-Bridlington player, will be in pot for a minimum of three months and will miss the rest of the season.
Manager Dave Anderson added: "James is a top player and a quality person.
"A few Evo-Stik League clubs have been after him but James has been very loyal to us and he will be sadly missed both on and off the field.
"Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery and him back in a Barton shirt sooner rather than later."
