Scarborough Athletic striker Dean Windass is one of many ex-professionals taking part in a charity game for Help For Heroes tomorrow night. The staff at West Riding County Football Association have been keen to organise an event in support of those men and women of our Armed Forces wounded in the service of their country.
The charity match that kicks off at 7pm will be played at the County Ground, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, Leeds, LS26 8NX.
As well as Windass, who played for Hull City, Middlesbrough, Bradford City and Sheffield United, other players taking part include the likes of Peter Beagrie (Sky Sports, ex Man City, Everton, Bradford City), Wayne Jacobs (ex Bradford City, Sheffield Wednesday), David Wetherall (ex Leeds Utd, Bradford City), Andrew Gale (Yorkshire Cricket), Ryan Sidebottom (Yorkshire, England Cricket), Anthony McGrath (Yorkshire, England Cricket) and many more.
The Yorkshire Army Cadet Force will be in attendance on the night and have also requested that before kick off a period of remembrance is observed for Rifleman Sheldon Lee Jordan Steele, who lost his life aged just 20 last Sunday in Afghanistan.
This period of silence will also be used in memory of Gary Speed who sadly passed away last weekend.

Meanwhile, NCEL sponsors Baris Facades & Linings Ltd are going to donate ?250 to this hugely worthwhile charity.
And, Managing Director Terry Damms told us that could be more if Windass pledges his allegiance to one of his former club's rivals, Sheffield Wednesday, saying: "If Deano scores a goal or two we will increase this donation accordingly.
"But only if he openly admits to preferring to wearing the Sheffield blue and white striped shirt to the red and white striped shirt variety!"
