Fortune-West Becomes Armthorpe Boss
4th May, 2012
Armthorpe Welfare have announced that former Football League player Leo Fortune-West has become manager of the Baris NCEL Premier Division side with immediate effect.
Fortune-West has been with the club as a player for eighteen months after joining the club and scoring on his debut against Parkgate on November 6th, 2010.
Since then, the ex-Doncaster, Rotherham and Cardiff professional has utilised his experience in helping the other players' development and has more recently took and increasing interest in coaching at the club.
In the final weeks of Des Bennett's reign, Fortune-West has become more involved in handling matchday affairs and team selection and has built up a good rapport with the current group of players.
This should help with the smoothest transition possible and increases the chances of retaining some of the players from last season.
Gary Paton, who has also been involved with the club this past season as a coach has been appointed as Assistant Manager.
