Thacker and Barnwell Appointed Joint Rangers Bosses
18th January, 2012
Hall Road Rangers have announced the appointment of Martin Thacker and Jamie Barnwell as joint managers of the club.
Club chairman Darren Wilson said, "After prolonged negotiations, Martin and Jamie have both agreed to return to the club in a joint managerial capacity.
"With both having previously served as Hall Road Rangers players and managers, they understand what is required to take the club forward and they both have the best interests of the club at heart."
Thacker left his player/manager role at the club on December 7th last year to concentrate on the playing side of his career.
But, after a brief spell back at former club Bridlington Town, the 31-year-old has returned to Dene Park as joint manager.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Barnwell was in charge of Rangers before Thacker's first spell at the helm in 2010.
He boasts over 80 Football League appearances with the likes of Cambridge United, Wigan Athletic and Swansea City.
Following Thacker's initial resignation, Hall Road slipped to 16th in the NCEL Premier Division after four straight losses.
Wilson was forced to briefly step down from his role as chairman of the club to take on first team managerial duties himself.
But, with Thacker and Barnwell now at the helm, Wilson returns to his original role and he said he hoped the club can now take a more settled approach and concentrate on consolidating Hall Road's position in the Baris NCEL Premier Division after the recent few months of uncertainty.
The duo's first game in charge is an away trip against Lincoln Moorlands Railway on Saturday.
