Thacker Steps Down as Rangers Boss
7th December, 2011
Martin Thacker has resigned as manager of Baris NCEL Premier Division side Hall Road Rangers and is leaving the club with immediate effect.
Thacker took over the reins at Dene Park at the beginning of October, initially on a temporary basis following the resignation of Billy Heath but was appointed permanently two weeks later.
After just twelve games in charge, in which Rangers recorded three wins, two draws and seven losses, he has decided that he wishes to concentrate his efforts on the pitch as a player with no managerial distractions.
His final match in charge, and indeed as a Hall Road player, was a 2-2 draw with Armthorpe Welfare at Dene Park.
Chairman Darren Wilson issued a statement on behalf of the club, saying: "Hall Road Rangers regretfully announce that Martin Thacker is stepping down as first team manager with immediate effect.
"We thank him for his efforts over the past few weeks and send all our best wishes to him for the future."
The club can confirm that the search for a new manager will begin immediately.
In the meantime, a caretaker manager will be placed in temporary charge for Saturday's away fixture against Parkgate.
