Seasiders Search for Community Heroes

12th November, 2011

Bridlington Town are to launch Community Heroes ? a new award for individuals who make a positive contribution to their local community in Bridlington, Scarborough or along the East Yorkshire coast.

Every Community Hero will receive at least four tickets to a Seasiders home game, courtesy of club sponsor Neil Hudgell Solicitors.

Peter Smurthwaite, Chairman of the Baris NCEL Premier Division side, said: "I am delighted by the community aspect of this sponsorship and I'd like to thank Neil Hudgell Solicitors for their support.

"The Community Heroes Award is something very positive, a bit different and not the usual corporate stuff.

"Rewarding people for their good deeds and hard work is so important and underlines how we're not a stand-alone club but very involved in our local community."

Town are now seeking nominations for their first Community Hero - someone who makes a real difference to others' lives at home, at school or in the wider community.

The initiative will be launched at the most important match so far this season - the FA Vase Second Round fixture against Gilford Park next Saturday.

The Community Heroes Award is similar to an initiative at Hull City, sponsored by Neil Hudgell Solicitors, specialists in personal injury and medical negligence claims.

Neil Hudgell Solicitors also sponsor Bridlington Town's stadium which the club shares with Scarborough Athletic.

Neil Hudgell, Managing Director, said: "I'm delighted to back Community Heroes and am pleased that this way of recognising and rewarding people who do their bit to help others is being extended to Bridlington, Scarborough and along the East Coast.

"I hope people will come forward and use this opportunity to thank publicly any previously unsung heroes."

To nominate a Community Hero, details can be sent via email to seasiders@neil-hudgell.co.uk or by post to Neil Hudgell Solicitors, 530 Holderness Road, Hull, HU9 3DT.

Nominations are open from now until the end of the 2011/12 season and should state the name of the person nominated, the reasons for the nomination, along with a contact telephone number.
