Brid Management Duo Leave Club

1st May, 2009

Tim Hotte and Gary Allanson have resigned as managers of Bridlington Town.

The news was broken in the dressing room after last night's 2-2 draw at Nostell Miners Welfare in the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division.

A club spokesperson said: "Tim and Gary feel they have taken the club as far as they can and want to hand over the managerial reins to someone else who will carry on the work they have started.

"Tim and Gary thanked the players for the commitment and support they have given the club and the management.

"It goes without saying that all connected with Bridlington Town thank Tim and Gary for the time and effort they have given this season in assembling a squad to score over 100 league goals.

"Bridlington Town wish Tim and Gary all the best for the future both professionally and personally.

"Fans will have a chance to thank the popular duo in person at the presentation night on Friday 15th May in the clubhouse at 8pm."

Chairman Peter Smurthwaite had been informed of the decision on Tuesday evening.

He said: "I am sad to announce that the managers, Gary Allanson and Tim Hotte, have left the club and would thank them for the excellent work they have done for the club this season.

"The team have been in the top four virtually all season and reached the final of the ERCFA Senior Cup at the KC Stadium.

"They encouraged the team to play an entertaining style of football and after the struggle of the previous two seasons have now given the club a good foundation to build and it is a pity they are not able to carry on the good work themselves.

"The reasons for leaving I understand are personal and I can only respect their decision and wish them well for the future.

"I would also comment I had no problems whatsoever working with them and they always acted as professionally as they could and showed an example of excellent discipline and attitude in the technical area.

"I now need to act as quickly as I can to engage another suitable manager and should anyone feel they have the correct CV and experience please contact me on my mobile number, 07979 245852.

"I have also spoken to the players and asked them to stay with the club and hope they can help build on this season's success."
