NCEL Stunned by Death of Hemsworth Secretary
27th April, 2012
It is with real sadness that Hemsworth Miners Welfare announce the tragic death of club secretary Mark Crapper.
A statement on the club's website reads: "Mark held the position of club secretary for thirty fantastic years and without his endeavour, effort and determination, this football club would not be standing where they are now.
"He loved his little village club of HMWFC and also adored his beloved Leeds United. Mark will be very sadly missed by everyone.
"Mark's funeral will take place on Wednesday 16th May, departing his home at 12:10PM for a service at Pontefract Crematorium at 12:40PM.
"A free coach will be provided for anyone wishing to go to the Crematorium, departing the clubhouse at 12PM.
"Everyone is welcome back at the clubhouse for a drink and some food to celebrate Mark's life."
Hemsworth Miners Welfare's scheduled fixture against Teversal tomorrow has been cancelled as a mark of respect.
This fixture will now be switched to Hemsworth and played on Tuesday 1st May with a 7:45pm kick off.
The club added: "We thank Teversal for accepting our proposal of switching the fixture, in aid for us to play it as a mark of respect for our club secretary.
"All of the family would like to thank everyone for their overwhelming support at this very sad and difficult time."
Everyone at the Baris NCEL would like to send their deepest condolences to Mark's family, friends and everyone at Hemsworth Miners Welfare.
