400 Up For Sykes
4th April, 2012
Dinnington Town captain Andy Sykes celebrates an amazing milestone in their Baris NCEL Division One game at Eccleshill United on Friday.
The skipper, who has been at the club for ten years, will notch up his 400th appearance.
He joined from Thorne Colliery at the start of the 2002/03 season when Dinnington were in the Central Midlands League.
During his time, they were promoted to the NCEL in 2006 and he has helped them win the Division One title and the League Cup.
The club said: "Dinnington Town would like to take the opportunity thank Andy Sykes for his dedication and presence in his ten year career with the club.
"He is a no nonsense fully committed centre back and captain. He has great respect from his players, supporters and manager.
"First man on the team sheet, Andy has been a pleasure to work with, and with his form this season he should notch up a few more before he finally hangs his boots up."
