Tadcaster Pitch Hit By Floods - UPDATE
8th September, 2008
Tadcaster Albion's Ings Lane ground has been a victim to the recent floods.
In a vulnerable place next to the River Wharfe, the pitch is underwater after the torrential downpours suffered in the North of England over the last few days caused the river to burst its banks.
At one stage, the pitch and car park were under at least a metre of water.
Next Saturday's game against AFC Emley is already under threat with Taddy saying that "a miracle" is needed for the game to go ahead.
By Sunday evening, only 50% of the pitch was underwater but further rain is forecast for this week.
The club last suffered flooding back in January which caused extensive damage to the playing surface and clubhouse.
