All Change At Glasshoughton
29th June, 2008
Following their relegation to Division One, Glasshoughton Welfare have made sweeping changes behind-the-scenes as they try to get back to the top flight.
Secretary Ray Gowan told the NCEL website: "We have been working hard to prepare ourselves for the season ahead with our ambition an immediate return to the Premier league.
"Our management board has acquired major reinforcements with Pontefract Collieries' ex-Chairman, Mick Slater, and ex-Secretary, Frank Maclachan, joining and adding their wealth of experience to our endeavours.
"We have also appointed Gary Johnson as Commercial Director and he is already busy making the whole of West Yorkshire aware of our presence.
"We commenced training this week and there was a bumper turn out with a major percentage of new faces.
"Manager Dave Holmes has recruited former Under-19 Manager Phil Riding as his assistant and Gary Bostock has joined from Selby Town to run the newly formed Reserve Team.
"We are looking forward to the new season with lots of local derbies and many new places to visit."
