Main Welcome Rovers to Oxford Street

24th June, 2008

Rossington Main will welcome Championship newcomers Doncaster Rovers to the Welfare Ground during pre-season.

After searching for a suitable ground and an inspection from a member of their back-room staff, the Keepmoat club decided that their opening friendly would be against the KoolSport NCEL Division One side at Oxford Street on Wednesday 9th July 2008, kick-off 7.30pm.

Although there is still plenty of work to do at the ground to get it ready for the new season, Rossington say it is deemed as an honour that Rovers have chosen them to host this game.

Rovers have said that they will bring as strong a side as is possible, meaning that quite a few of the first team could well be on show, hoping to impress the management team before the season kicks off.

A Rossington Main spokesperson said: "This is great news, as it sees four prestigious games for The Colliery in their own six pre-season warm-up games.

"We are hoping that these fixtures will attract plenty of interest for the village of Rossington."
