Baris NCEL Review - Season 2011/12 #48
29th March, 2012
The two sides chasing Baris NCEL Division One leaders Handsworth both won their midweek matches to keep the pressure on.
Second-placed Albion Sports moved to within three points of the Sheffield-based outfit with a 2-0 home win over Bottesford Town.
Jordan Missin gave them the lead before half-time and Alex Cusack made sure of the victory with twelve minutes remaining.
A Gavin Allott brace earned Worksop Parramore a 3-1 victory at Hallam after Sam Eckhardt cancelled out their early opener from Mark Wall.
It means Parramore, who are third, are six points behind Handsworth but with two games in hand.
Louth Town moved up into tenth with a 2-1 win at Askern Villa, Dan Pawson scoring both their goals, sandwiching Gary Mundy's 40th minute strike.
Three of the League Cup Quarter-Finals also took place with Shirebrook Town, Thackley and Winterton Rangers all making it through to the last four.
Shirebrook caused the biggest upset as the Division One side won 2-0 at Premier Division Brighouse Town, Peter Stubley and Julian Topliss with the goals in the final ten minutes.
In the two all-Premier Division clashes, Scott Bibby's 58th minute strike proved the winner for Winterton, 2-1 at home to Parkgate, whilst Liam Moore struck twice in Thackley's 4-1 victory over visitors Nostell Miners Welfare.
And, AFC Emley were beaten by a second-half Alex Dalton double in their 2-0 friendly defeat at home to Stocksbridge Park Steels.
