Baris NCEL Review - Season 2011/12 #18
24th November, 2011
Staveley Miners Welfare missed out on a chance to move into the top two of the Baris NCEL Premier Division as they were held to a goalless draw at home by Brighouse Town in midweek.
There were very few goals in the four matches played in the division with Winterton Rangers winning 1-0 at home to Armthorpe Welfare, courtesy of a 64th minute goal from Liam Nelthorpe.
It was 1-1 between bottom side Maltby Main and Arnold Town, Lee Clay putting the hosts ahead on the quarter-hour mark before Josh Schofield levelled as the game moved towards half-time.
Two first-half goals from Gareth Barlow and Danny Buttle saw Barton Town Old Boys claim a 2-1 victory at Nostell Miners Welfare, with the hosts pulling one back on the hour through Graham Marchant.
Albion Sports and Shirebrook Town claimed the last two places in the Wilkinson Sword Trophy Semi-Finals with home victories.
Alex Cusack, Karl Hall and Joe Brown scored in the first period for Sports at home to Glasshoughton Welfare and Anil Singh completed the 4-0 win in the 74th minute.
Luke Thomas' 22nd minute strike was enough for Shirebrook at home to Dinnington Town.
And, Scarborough Athletic bowed out of the North Riding Senior Cup at home to Guisborough Town, Bill Law scoring their goal in a 5-1 defeat at the Neil Hudgell Law Stadium.
