Three sides are now left in the KoolSport NCEL Premier Division title chase whilst Rainworth Miners Welfare secured promotion from Division One in Saturday's thrilling action.
Mickleover Sports remain top and favourites to become League champions and move up to the UniBond League.
But, their lead has been cut to just two points after they lost 1-0 at second-placed Selby Town.
Tom Matthews grabbed the only goal of the match with twenty minutes remaining in front of the Premier Division's biggest crowd of the season, 248.
Selby, however, have only two games left to play compared to Mickleover's three.
Third-placed Long Eaton United also kept themselves in the championship race with a 2-1 win at home to Brodsworth Welfare.
They are three points behind Mickleover and go to the leaders on Saturday, although the title could have been decided by then should Sports win their two midweek matches.
But, a 2-1 defeat at Thackley has knocked Bridlington Town, who are fourth, out of the reckoning.
They took an early lead through a Frank Belt penalty but Rob Morgan and Chris Coy also scored in the first half to ensure a victory that moves the home side up to sixth.
Brodsworth's defeat at Long Eaton ensured that they finish in the bottom two alongside Eccleshill United and must now wait to see if ground grading issues give them a reprieve from relegation.
Eccleshill are going out fighting, however, having won 2-1 at Nostell Miners Welfare, Andy Howland and Ryan Wood scoring for them after a Chris Bates own goal had given the hosts the lead.
Arnold Town move up to fifth after a 2-1 win at Lincoln Moorlands Railway who will finish eighteenth this season.
Chris Hudson gave the Eagles the lead on twelve minutes before Chris Freestone doubled their lead on 69 and Steve John got a late consolation for Railway as the game neared injury time.
Dinnington Town drop below Arnold and Thackley as they needed a late Michael Blython equaliser to pick up a point in a 1-1 draw at Parkgate.
And, Winterton Rangers moved up to eighth with a 4-1 win at home to Hallam.
David Watson scored twice whilst Callum Render and Andy Holt also got on the scoresheet for Rangers whilst James Tevendale netted for the visitors in their last match of the season.
Tenth-placed Pickering Town kept themselves in with a great chance of picking up a Presidents Cup spot next season with a 1-1 draw at Hall Road Rangers.
Joe Connor scored a penalty in the 87th minute for them after Paul Palmer had broken the deadlock on 75, also from twelve yards.
Armthorpe Welfare were the top flight's biggest winners as they beat visitors Liversedge 6-0.
Henry Sibenge, Gary Jones and James Walker had them well in control by the interval before Bruno Holden, Jones with his second and Liam Hardy with the sixth made it a comfortable afternoon for Welfare.
And, Shirebrook Town celebrated their Premier Division survival with a 3-1 win at home to Maltby Main.

And, they got it with a straightforward 3-0 victory at Worsbrough Bridge Athletic thanks to goals from Ant Lynam, Phil Bignall and Danny Naylor.
They join Scarborough Athletic in the move up to the Premier Division.
The leaders received the Division One trophy after a 0-0 draw at home to Leeds Carnegie in front of a season's best crowd of 791.
Staveley Miners Welfare and Barton Town Old Boys have both ensured themselves a spot in next season's FA Cup by finishing in the top five.
Staveley stay fourth after a 2-1 win over visitors Grimsby Borough, Lee Gregory and Jamie Smith with their goals sandwiching a strike for the away side by Richard Creer.
And, Barton are behind them only on goal difference but having played one game more after a 3-1 win at Yorkshire Amateur, Craig Burdick with a brace in that victory.
The Ammers remain next-to-bottom whilst basement side Glasshoughton Welfare were pummelled 8-0 at Bottesford Town.
