Broster Returns To Eagles

14th June, 2006

Arnold Town Manager Andy Muldoon has swooped to bring goalkeeper Lee Broster back to the club.

Broster returns to Gedling Road after a years absence in which time he helped Sheffield FC to fourth place in the NCEL Premier division.

Broster also picked up a Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup Winners medal to add to the Notts Senior Cup one he gained with the Eagles.

It will be Broster's third spell at the club and he already has 177 games under his belt.

The keeper made a solitary performance in January 1994 before rejoining the club at the start of the 2001/02 season.

Broster played 49 games in his first season back at the club and picked up two awards in the end of season presentations.

He was ever present the following season and missed a handful of games in his last season with the club.

The experienced Broster will be able to pass on his knowledge of the game to the club's young goalkeepers Karl Najuk and James Mountain.

Meanwhile, club officials were saddened this week when they learned of the death of a former Gedling Road favourite.

Defender Pete Catling sadly passed away recently and the club would like to pass on its condolences to his family and friends.

Catling was a first rate defender during the mid to late 1990's and amassed 215 games for the club.

The club has scooped second prize in the Soccer Club Shop annual programme awards.

The club's programme 'Eagle Eye' was beaten into second place by Sheffield FC's effort.

The production of the programme is a real team effort and the award is testimony to the hard work those involved put in.

The programme team consists of major contributor Martin Williams, printer Melvyn Draycott and Editor Paul Stanley.
