New Era At Staveley

4th June, 2007

The new chairman of Staveley Miners Welfare says that the club's future has been assured.

Speaking on the Division One side's website, Terry Damms said: "I am pleased to announce that a new football committee has been formed in order to secure the short term, and hopefully long term future, for SMWFC.

"I would like to thank the Staveley Miners Welfare Committee for their co-operation and assistance in the recent negotiations and also the previous football committee members and management for their previous efforts.

"The new committee are currently preparing the plans for the future including a business and financial matrix to include extensive financial sponsorship that will ensure the club has the best possible chance of being successful.

"A new management team has been formed and they are seeking to talk with the under-19 and senior players from last season with a view to integrating a number of those players into the pool of players that the new management team also have in mind.

"In this respect I would request that any enquiries regarding the forthcoming season and availability for players to join the new SMWFC initiative and vision for the future should firstly email me at teldamms@aol.com with their details and CV and we will be back in touch shortly thereafter."

The changes come after all the members of the Inkersall Road side's committee retired at the end of the season.
