AFC Emley have been left stunned by the death of their President.

Adrian Wright lost his short fight for life earlier today.

He was taken ill after a club management meeting on October the 9th and, although being transferred to "Jimmys" in Leeds from Barnsley for specialist treatment, he died this morning.

Adrian was one of the original members of the team which raised the new AFC Emley to its standing today in the NCE League.

Adrian, who was only 54, leaves behind a wife Tricia, a daughter and three sons, one of whom, Nick, was a player with the club.

A minutes sign of remembrance was held prior to AFC Emley's home game with Rossington Main.
