New Boss At Staveley

18th January, 2006

Staveley Miners Welfare have announced a new management team following the resignation of Rob Atkin towards the end of last week.

Kenny Geelan, the former Assistant Manager at Maltby Main, takes over with immediate effect.

Geelan (39) played for Shepshed, Burton Albion, Stocksbridge and Worksop Town after being released by Sheffield United at the age of 20.

He also coached Frecheville in the Sheffield County Senior League before taking up the post of reserve team manager at Alfreton Town.

He had a successful 5-years at North Street winning the Midland Regional Alliance Premier Division Championship twice before departing in June 2005.

Kenny is joined at Inkersall Road by assistant David Frain, the ex-Stockport County and Sheffield United midfielder.

Frain (43) was Kenny Geelan's assistant at Alfreton Town.
