Badgers Sign Shackleton

RETFORD UNITED have secured the signing of 20 year old Danny Shackleton from North West Counties League side New Mills.
The Central Defender links up with Manager Mark Shaw who said: "Danny is a highly rated centre half who we have managed to bring to the club from New Mills. I fully expect Danny to become a fans favourite as he is strong, quick and confident on the ball.
"He is a player who can perform at a high level and I see him as a quality acquisition and look forward to seeing him at the heart of our defence for the majority of the season."
Danny has joined the Badgers after spells at Alfreton Town and Worksop Town then New Mills and is expected to make his debut against Worksop Town on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a Badgers squad travelled to Forest Town on Wednesday night (13th) with a mixture of First Team and Reserve players. Goals from Carlos Forbes, Will Tomlinson and Mark Shaw saw the Badgers return to Cannon Park with a 3-1 victory.
The next game is on Saturday 16th versus Worksop Town at Cannon Park (3pm), followed by the visit of Mansfield Town on Tuesday 19th at 7.30pm.
