Sutton Town Quit NCEL + Other AGM News

10th June, 2007

At what was an eventful League AGM this morning, Sutton Town have resigned from the NCEL.

The Fieldings outfit have ended their time in the League due to financial reasons.

It was proposed that they were replaced in the Premier Division by the side that finished fifth in Division One, Lincoln Moorlands.

This was passed, as were the other promotion/relegation proposals, which means that the top five sides from Divison One - Parkgate, Winterton Rangers, South Normanton Athletic, Nostell Miners Welfare and Moorlands - go up into the Premier Division.

And, four new sides have been introduced into Division One with Barton Town Old Boys, Bottesford Town, Leeds Met Carnegie and Rainworth Miners Welfare welcomed into the League.

That means, currently, the Premier Division stays at twenty teams whilst Division One will have sixteen sides.

Meanwhile, if former Conference North side Scarborough FC fail to avoid liquidation on Tuesday, the League have given them fourteen days to submit an application to join the NCEL.

Fixture lists have been delayed until this situation has been resolved as either the Premier Division or Division One structure could be affected.

The League structure is, therefore, as follows but is still subject to change:
