League Line-Up For 2007/08 Proposed

1st June, 2007

The Northern Counties East League have officially confirmed their proposed divisional line-up for the 2007/08 season.

With four clubs moving into the UniBond League ? Retford United, Sheffield, Carlton Town and Garforth Town ? four sides need to replace them in the Premier Division to keep it at twenty, the minimum amount of sides required for a Contributory League.

It is proposed that the sides that finished in the top four of Division One ? Parkgate, Winterton Rangers, South Normanton Athletic and Nostell Miners Welfare ? will be promoted.

There will be no relegation from the Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Division One will be kept at 17 teams with the introduction of four sides ? Barton Town Old Boys, Bottesford Town and Rainworth Miners Welfare from the Central Midlands League and Leeds Met Carnegie from the West Yorkshire Football League.

There are also two planned name changes with Mickleover Sports becoming Derby FC and Lincoln Moorlands becoming Lincoln Moorlands Railway.
