NCEL Weekend Preview

30th March, 2007

Both Premier Division title chasing sides are at home in a full Saturday league programme.

And, both are facing mid-table teams as Sheffield entertain Sutton Town and Retford United welcome Long Eaton United to Cannon Park.

Meanwhile, at the wrong end of the table, defeat for bottom side Brodsworth Welfare at the side just above them, Thackley, will confirm them as the winners of the dreaded wooden spoon.

It would leave them fifteen points adrift with only four games to play.

In the chase for possible promotion places, third-placed Garforth Town travel to Maltby Main whilst Carlton Town are at home to Armthorpe Welfare and Selby Town go to Eccleshill United.

Seventh-placed Glapwell are at Arnold Town whilst Mickleover Sports face Derbyshire rivals Shirebrook Town at Langwith Road.

Hallam, who are ninth, entertain Glasshoughton Welfare whilst Liversedge make the trip to Pickering Town.

There is another round of matches in the roller-coaster race for the Division One title.

Second-placed Winterton Rangers will be hoping for another change at the top of the table but they have a tough task at home to Nostell Miners Welfare who are fourth.

Leaders Parkgate, meanwhile, are at home to Dinnington Town.

As in the top flight, there are a clutch of teams underneath the top two battling it out for possible promotion places.

South Normanton Athletic, who are in the best position to take third place, travel to struggling Yorkshire Amateur.

The other two sides in the top six, Lincoln Moorlands and Tadcaster Albion, are at Pontefract Collieries and at home to Worsbrough Bridge, respectively.

Bottom side Rossington Main are at home to Hall Road Rangers knowing defeat could make it almost mathematically certain they will stay there.

A defeat for them and a win for Yorkshire Amateur and Teversal, who are at home to Staveley Miners Welfare, would make the gap twelve points with four to play and Main have a much worse goal difference.

Finally, Gedling Town entertain Borrowash Victoria at the Riverside Ground.
