Thursday's very strong winds have caused damage at two NCEL clubs with repair operations set to get underway over the next few days.

Teversal FC's website reports that, at their ground, "the conservatory roof was blown clean off during the afternoon and ended up in the Teversal Grange car park and neighbouring field, damaging a car along the way.

"The light-deflecting cowls on the floodlights have been displaced and the fence behind the goal at the Railway End has been completely flattened."

Meanwhile, the Shirebrook Town FC forum is reporting that the roof of their stand "has collapsed" as a result of the same bad weather.

It adds that work is underway to make the ground safe for the public and is asking for help in doing that today and tomorrow.
