Barlow Reaches Double Century
17th April, 2011
Barton Town Old Boys' most prolific ever scorer notched up his 200th goal for the KoolSport NCEL Division One club this weekend.Gareth Barlow's superb turn-and-volley to get his club's second in a 9-0 victory at Appleby Frodingham was described by home supporters as the best goal they had seen this season.

It was a fitting time to reach his personal milestone as he did it at the club where he began his non-league career.
He moved from App-Frod to Barton in 2005 and netted 45 goals in his first season as the Swans won the Central Midlands League Supreme Division title.
Due to ground grading issues, though, they would have to wait for another season to move up into the NCEL when Gareth's tally of 40 goals led them to the runners-up spot.
At the new level, he scored 24 in all competitions in 2007/08, 26 in the following campaign and then 32 last season.
Yesterday's strike made it 33 for the 2010/11 season, taking him to the magical 200 mark.
And, the feat is all the more remarkable when you consider that he does not take penalties.

Windass Returns For Barton
9th September, 2010
Hull City legend Dean Windass is set to turn out once again this weekend for KoolSport NCEL Division One side, Barton Town Old Boys.
Despite protestations that his recent debut against Yorkshire Amateur was a "one off", he has made himself available for selection and goes straight into the squad for their game against Grimsby Borough at The Euronics Ground on Saturday.
A Club spokesman said: "Dean has been in more or less constant touch with manager Dave Anderson since the Yorkshire Amateur game as he enjoyed the day so much.
"Once a footballer, always a footballer. Either that or he's a glutton for punishment!"
Although the match is a scheduled home game for Borough, it has been switched to Barton as the new Grimsby Community Stadium is not yet ready for action.

Windass Signs For Barton
25th August, 2010
Veteran striker Dean Windass has joined KoolSport NCEL Division One leaders Barton Town Old Boys and will play in their match on Bank Holiday Monday.
Windass, who scored the goal to secure Hull City's place in the Premier League for the first time in their history, will take part in Barton Town's home league clash with Yorkshire Amateur.
It came about when manager Dave Anderson found himself limited in attacking options for the game with Gareth Barlow on holiday whilst Richard Medcalf and Matty Fyvie are both suspended.
Anderson, who was a fellow apprentice with Dean during his first spell with Hull City, asked the striker to help out and he duly accepted.
The Barton boss said: "Everyone at the club is excited and overwhelmed that such a much loved and highly regarded player is helping the club out.
"It is a real coup for the club and further emphasises our desire to move forward."
With both Hull City and Scunthorpe United without a fixture on Bank Holiday Monday, Barton Town Old Boys are expecting a bumper crowd for Dean's debut.
