Pickering Town honoured the memory of a North Yorkshire football legend last night. The Pikes were left in utter shock when chairman Tony Dunning, who'd had a lifelong involvement at the club and done so much for the Non-League game, died suddenly in October, aged 65.
Their friendly against visitors Whitby Town last night was a match held in his memory and, as part of what was an emotional evening, the main stand at their Mill Lane ground was unveiled with its new name - 'The Tony Dunning Stand.'
Over 230 people were there to pay their respects.
Whitby won the game, 2-1.
Margaret Dunning is given a bouquet by club captain Wayne Aziz.
A minute's silence is impeccably observed.
