Following Saturday's 1-1 draw with Grimsby Borough, Barton Town Old Boys manager Carl Stead tendered his resignation to the club.

This has duly been accepted and the club will be holding a meeting on Monday evening to discuss the vacancy and the way forward.

Carl has cited personal commitments meant he could not give sufficient time to his role at the club and was finding it more difficult to balance family with football.

The club wish to put on record its thanks for the seven years of loyal service Carl has given in his playing and managerial tenure at the club.
