Hunter is the new Main man

4th May, 2019

Ben Hunter is the new manager of Rossington Main following the departure of Ryan Hindley from the Toolstation NCEL Division One side earlier this week.

Hunter, who will be joined in the dugout by Sam Parkin and Matt Ellison, knows the club well having come through its youth system before playing for the first team earlier this season, a spell that included a goal from a great free-kick in a home defeat to Winterton Rangers.

He brings with him a wealth of playing experience in the game after spells across the pond with Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer and Richmond Kickers, representing Great Britain in the World University Games, and more recently turning out in non-league for Matlock Town and North Ferriby United.

Hunter said: "First of all, I would like to thank the club for this great opportunity.

"I grew up in Rossington and the club means a lot to me and I know what it means to the village and those working hard behind the scenes.

"Rossington Main provided me with a great start and was massively important to what I've accomplished as a player.

"It's an exciting time and a new chapter as the club are in its centenary year.

"I've always wanted to go into management and considered it carefully with my management team and there couldn't be a better club I'd like to start my journey with as a manager.

"I have lots of ambitions for the club and I share them with the committee and its members.

"I'm excited and me and my team can't wait to get started."

Hindley becomes Main manager

9th September, 2018

Former Worksop Town and Hallam boss Ryan Hindley has been unveiled as the new manager of Toolstation NCEL Division One side Rossington Main.

The Oxford Street outfit announced the news on their Twitter account, just 24 hours after it had emerged that Duncan Milligan had stepped down from the role following their 8-1 home loss to leaders Winterton Rangers on Saturday.

But, fans will have to wait a short while before seeing Hindley on the touchline.

The club revealed: "[Rossington Main] are delighted to announce the appointment of Ryan Hindley as our new first team manager with effect from 17th September.

"Ryan is joined by his assistants Stuart Lowe and Tom Nolan. Welcome on board, gents."

The new dugout team's first game in charge will be the league trip to FC Bolsover on Saturday 22nd September, 2018.

Milligan leaves Main managerial role

9th September, 2018

Rossington Main say they hope that Duncan Milligan will stay at the club in another capacity after he stepped aside as manager on Saturday evening.

The announcement that Milligan and the club had mutually agreed that he would leave the post came after their 8-1 home defeat to Winterton Rangers that leaves Main sixteenth in Toolstation NCEL Division One.

A statement from Milligan on the club's website said: "I've spoken to the chairman after the game and had a good long chat.

"I've discussed where I think my flaws are, where the current players' flaws are and where the club as a whole falls short at the moment and that something is just not working.

"I've been open and honest and told him I'm lucky enough to work in football full time and the way NCEL football is going I'm not sure it is for me."

Main added on their Twitter feed: "Hopefully, Duncan will continue at Rossington Main FC pursuing another role.

"[We] thank Duncan for all his work and hope it will be continued."
