Marcorison takes the reins at Rail
15th May, 2019
Harrogate Railway Athletic have announced the appointment of a new management team at Station View.
The Rail, who will compete in Toolstation NCEL Division One next season having finished the 2018/19 campaign in the bottom two of the Premier Division, have announced that their new boss will be Des Macorison.
He will be assisted by Lee Ryan whilst Danny Scott will be head coach, Ray Green will take charge of the reserve side and Wil Golby will oversee football development.
A club statement said that, following relegation, the Rail have had to "re-evaluate" from "top down and bottom up."
It continued: "We are looking to focus on what is required and is important to us as a club in the community.
"Our members, supporters, senior and junior male and female players are all very important to this and will be encouraged to be involved as much as possible at all levels.
"The new management team is only one part of the process but facts are that winning football teams create more interest than losing ones.
"So, it is important we all work together to achieve in all areas and support all aspects of the club.
"We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Des Macorison and his management team to Harrogate Railway and wish them every success."

Rail part company with Ogilvie
7th April, 2019
Relegation-threatened Harrogate Railway Athletic announced on Friday that they had parted company with their manager Craig Ogilvie by mutual consent.
He had been in charge at Station View since September but a 5-0 loss at Garforth Town on Tuesday had left the club bottom of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
The Rail are two points away from safety with matches at Thackley, Knaresborough Town and Staveley Miners Welfare left to play.
A club statement, released before Saturday's 4-1 loss at title-chasers Worksop Town, read: "Craig Ogilvie has left the club as manager by mutual consent.
"The Rail would like to thank Craig for his time and effort while at the club and wish him well for the future.
"Simon Brooker, Andy Sunley, Colin Seal and Paul Barker will be in charge of the first team to the end of the season.
"No further comment will be made by the club as we concentrate on our last four games of the season and the fight for NCEL Premier survival."

Davey steps down as Rail boss
7th September, 2018
There has been a change of manager at Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Harrogate Railway Athletic after Brian Davey stepped down in midweek.
Davey, who was in charge at Station View since May, will be succeeded by his assistant Craig Ogilvie who the club says is keen to continue with the foundations that have been put in place during his predecessor's time in the dugout.
A club statement said: "Brian took charge in the close season at the personal request of chairman Mike Edwards.
"His remit was to stabilise and rebuild the football section of the club after escaping relegation from the NCEL Premier Division last season.
"He has done that with great effect bringing in some quality back room coaches, adopting an U23 side and putting in place a structure that will promote quality youth football for the future.
"Everyone at Harrogate Railway would like to thank Brian for his contribution and wish him all the best for the future."
Ogilvie's first game in charge will be Rail's home league match against Penistone Church on Saturday.
