Agnew and Bowsley take Seasiders helm permanently

Bridlington Town have announced that caretaker manager Brett Agnew and assistant Anthony Bowsley have agreed to take the roles on permanently.
Chairman of the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side, Peter Smurthwaite, made the announcement on the club's website on Monday afternoon.
The pair took over from Curtis Woodhouse who stepped down towards the start of last month and they are unbeaten in their four matches in charge, winning three and drawing one, the latest being Saturday's 4-1 home league win over Hall Road Rangers.
Smurthwaite said: "After recent requests from various sources, I can confirm that Brett Agnew has been appointed as first team manager along with Anthony Bowsley as assistant first team manager and both have agreed to accept the appointments!
"They will also be assisted by Gavin Kelly as the goalkeeping coach.
"There needed to be a settling in period after Curtis stood down and Brett and Anthony have impressed me with their organisation and enthusiasm.
"We have a very loyal group of fans along with our dedicated team of volunteers who help run the club and I am sure they will give the management team their full backing.
"As always, the management team will be looking to strengthen the squad and will also be working with John Kenney and Terry Finney to develop players in the reserves and the county team who have the ability and desire to want to progress into the first team squad.
"I believe from what I have seen this season that this league will be the most competitive that it has been for a long time with most teams capable of beating each other and don't think there will be a team that dominates the top of the division."

Woodhouse leaves Seasiders

Toolstation NCEL Premier Division side Bridlington Town have announced that Curtis Woodhouse has decided to stand down as manager of the Seasiders.
A statement from club chairman Peter Smurthwaite on the club's website says that a change in Woodhouse's personal circumstances has led to his departure.
Smurthwaite explained: "He has recently opened his new Elite Boxing Academy in Driffield which will take up most of his time to make it a success.
"Curtis has prepared a full statement which will be released later and I take this opportunity to thank Curtis for his hard work as manager in the time he has been at the club and wish him every success with his new venture."
Brett Agnew will take over on a caretaker basis with fellow player-coach Anthony Bowsley as his assistant.
Woodhouse is the third NCEL manager to leave his post this week following Harrogate Railway Athletic's Brian Davey and Rossington Main's Duncan Milligan.

Barford set for second Great North Run

Bridlington Town keeper Jody Barford will be taking part in the Simplyhealth Great North Run next month, looking to beat the time he set in his first try last year whilst also raising a lot of money for charity.
The veteran shot-stopper, who has played for a number of other Toolstation NCEL sides including Winterton Rangers, Cleethorpes Town, Brigg Town, Barton Town and Tadcaster Albion, is looking to raise awareness for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) as well as go faster than the 1 hour 28 minutes he posted eleven months ago.
Jody, who has set up a JustGiving page, said: "After last year's success, I plan to run again in aid of a magnificent charity supporting so many people in the UK.
"Every week in the UK, at least twelve apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
"With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
"By supporting CRY, you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk."
It is the third year that Jody will have competed in a race for charity, having run the Humber Half Marathon in 2016 to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.
