Istead takes sole charge at Amber Parras
21st March, 2019
Handsworth Parramore have announced that interim joint manager Jonathan Froggatt has left the club to become assistant boss at former NCEL side AFC Mansfield.
Froggatt had been working alongside Steven Istead in the dugout since the pair took temporary charge at the King of Soho Stadium outfit in October.
But, he could not turn down a chance to work with his good friend and ex-Handsworth Parramore player Mark Ward at the Bulls who now ply their trade in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.
It brings to an end a four-year stay at the club for Froggatt, during which time he scored 106 goals in 150 appearances.
Vice Chairman Steve Holmes said: "First and foremost, Jon has been unbelievable since he walked through our door almost four years ago, a fine man and a class act who has given his all for our club, stepping in to help manage the club on two occasions.
"His goals per game record is simply outstanding and a record I doubt will ever be bettered and his influence on our young talents has been exemplary.
"Mansfield made contact and I understand they have made Jon an excellent offer and we could not stand in his way.
"I know it's with a heavy heart that he moves on and we all wish him well and we know he won't be a stranger such is his affinity with the Ambers. Good luck Froggy and thank you."
Istead will now take sole charge of first team affairs with James Ashmore as his assistant.
