Vikings appoint new joint managers
23rd December, 2018
Goole AFC have unveiled Terry Barwick and Matty Bloor as the club's new joint managers as the Vikings fight for their survival in the Toolstation NCEL Premier Division.
Phil Sharpe and Nigel Emery, who had been in charge at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds since the end of October, will be staying to support the new management team.
Barwick steps up from being a player whilst Bloor returns to a club where he was a midfielder for a number of years.
Bloor told Goole's website: "Both myself and Terry are delighted to be taking on the role of joint managers at Goole.
"It's a great opportunity for us both and we can't wait to get started.
"We know it won't be easy and there's lots of work to be done but, just like we both did as players, we will be giving it everything we have got in order to improve our situation and stay in this league."
Goole are currently bottom of the table, six points away from safety, and the new duo's bid to keep the Vikings in the top flight begins with a trip to Maltby Main on Saturday (29th).
