Seadogs Duo Hospitalised
15th September, 2010
Scarborough Athletic suffered a double blow at the weekend when their manager and one of their players were hospitalised.
Brian France took a very heavy knock to the face during the first half of their 2-2 draw at Liversedge on Saturday when a clearance flew into the dugout.
He was well enough to continue to manage the side but, when he returned home, it is reported that he blacked out and fell down the stairs.
He remains in hospital under observation.
And, striker Ryan Blott also needed treatment after he suffered what turned out to be a punctured lung during the final five minutes of the game.
The club's website says that, after suffering discomfort and pain on the way home and finding it difficult to breathe, he was taken to hospital where the problem was diagnosed and three-and-a-half litres of fluid was drained from his right lung.
Everyone at the KoolSport NCEL wishes Brian and Ryan a speedy recovery.
